Wop Devotional: Trusting God

Hello , Happy Sunday to you and and your loved ones. Welcome to the Women of Prayer Devotional. You will need a journal/notebook/diary/pens and markers. This Sunday our devotional is on a Trusting God.

Scriptures

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.( Isaiah 41:10).

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trust in Him, and he helps believe me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I will praise Him. (Psalms 28:7).

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-60).

As Christians our faith is often tested by unexpected negative turns in our lives. So many times, that we have experienced an influx of negativity we begin to view them as spiritual attacks, where they could just be unfortunate things happening at the same time. The one thing we can always count on is the trust in our Lord. Trusting God is one of the best ways for us not lose focus because He knows everything that we are battling, He sees it and all we need to do is communicate with Him through prayer commitment, fasting, praise and worship and overall faith. We must trust that He will get us out of the darkness and into the light always. Even though we are not the author of our lives, God knows what is going to happen next for He wrote the book of all our lives. Do not fear bad news or encourage negativity in your life because God’s word never changes therefore trust in Him and what He says about you.

Some obstacles in life can distract you from keeping your faith but know that God is about to remove you from that dark place, there are the battles He is fighting that you do not even know about but if you trust in Him, He will show you that everything you have gone through was for a purpose and the purpose was to learn how to trust in Him and His way because God always comes through for you. God keeps His word. For the word of the Lord is right and true; He is faithful in all he does (Psalms 33:4).

When you are faced with fear, know that you can look to God who is all powerful and knows all things. God is never worried, and he will strengthen you and keep you steady to face whatever is ahead of you as long is your faith is on Him. God is always with you no matter what you face and even when you don’t understand why you are in that situation, God is in control. God is able to give you strength through everything you are going through, just take it to the Lord in prayer . He does not promise it will be easy, but He promised that He will always be there for you and get you through it.

Psalms 62:8 evidently states that “Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.” A refuge is a safe place amid chaos. God says that you can trust in Him and put everything in His hands because He is your refuge, He is your safe place. You can trust him. The word says “do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe in me also John 14:10.Your trust in God can increase your confidence in approaching Him through all your troubles. He has always been faithful for if we ask for anything according to his will, He will hear us. Continue to trust in God and keep your focus on Him for He is faithful. Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, his confidence is in Him Jeremiah 17:7.

Have you ever been stuck in a difficult situation where you couldn’t see a way out?

There are women in the bible that trusted God through situations that could have caused them to lose faith. Their faith was rewarded by God delivering his promise. He is the promise keeper, way maker and the miracle worker.

Years before, Hagar had taken a trip into the desert. Whilst she was there, God made a promise to her. “I will increase your descendants so much that they will be too numerous to count,” (Genesis 16:10). Though for Hagar, it may have been years since her first visit from the angel of God, but God’s promise to Hagar stood firm. The Lord’s Word says, “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ,” (2 Corinthians 1:20).

Sarah was a bright woman. She knew the impossibility of her giving birth, however Proverbs 3:5 stated lean not on your own understanding.

Then the Lord said to Abraham, ‘Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say, ‘Can an old woman like me have a baby?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son,’” Genesis 18:13-14. When we’re at our weakest, our trust in Him should remain strong. When something happens that can’t be explained, we often try to reason it out. We try to find a way to make sense of it. God may be working a miracle in our lives, but our minds can be our worst enemy. As we understand the truth of God’s promises, we can learn to let go of doubt and trust God’s miracle-working power at work in our lives.
