During my 30 days of praying and fasting I had to shut down contrary voices to hear from God.Voices that were stopping me from hearing from God clearly or voices that made me question if it was God speaking or man.I really was tired of going to churches,following preachers of the gospel, listening to prophecies,studying the Word of God and not getting any deeper revelations and a lot more , I wanted to HEAR FROM GOD DIRECTLY and have the conviction of knowing that it was Him speaking.Don't get me wrong,there is nothing wrong with doing all the things mentioned above,but I wanted to grow and did not want to be stagnant.The Word of God says in Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.I wanted to be filled by the Spirit of God so much and I was willing to do my part and let God do the rest. I had been hearing from God for some time however, I had allowed my spirit to hear other voices. I was listening and following many Men and Women of God and I knew they were truly called but it had over shadowed hearing the Holy Spirit from God and I was now questioning if it was the Holy Spirit speaking or a contrary voice. How had it gotten from knowing that it was God speaking DIRECTLY and being convinced it was Him to me questioning if it was God speaking.Thank God for revelations, because I asked myself why I was in this funk and I caught the revelation from the word that I had allowed MY SPIRITUAL LIFE TO BE OVER CLOUDED BY TOO MANY VOICES.
I needed to silence all voices of (man) and other spirits, I stopped watching sermons or listening to preachings and dived into the WORD OF GOD, Joshua 1:8 says "Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do" , prayer and fasting. My prayer points was "Oh Lord ,let me hear Your voice clearly in the name of Jesus" and I stood on the verse Hebrews 3:15 while it says "Today if you hear His voice do not harden your hearts".
We are all aware of the vast use of technology,the internet,social media,gadgets etc etc and the era that we are living in has opened major doors for the information highway.Information whether good or bad is now easily accessible and it is so fast to get information now than it was 30 years ago. As much as this is a good thing, it is also to some extent a bad thing because it allows the believer to spend time on the wrong things instead of being in fellowship with God.The Holy Spirit wants to be our friend and He always wants us to be in a constant relationship with Him and when we stop spending time with Him, we create separation from Him.He is gentleman and will not force Himself ,you have to invite Him in.The same way you meet someone and you expect them to be in constant communication with you as you get to know them,it's the same with the Spirit of God.
Just like most of you ,I have friends and family who are not believers and irregardless of how many times you have asked them not to send you videos or memes of inappropriate things that will grieve the Holy Spirit they will continue to do so.Can I get a witness?So I decided to get rid of all my social media platforms during my fast.I deleted my tiktok, whats-app, snap-chat and Instagram apps.I also stopped watching T.V altogether and only listened to praise and worships songs and hymns,I did not want to watch or listen to anything that was not beneficial to my spirit.For example ,I could be watching a documentary on wild life,there is nothing wrong with that at all but was it beneficial for my spirit? NO!It was in no way edifying me or bringing me closer to God so I had to shut it down,I used You Tube for Praise and Worship and Content to do with fasting and prayer and immediately after I would close it down so I wouldn't lose focus.

Christians need to know that the devil is not our friend.We are at war with the enemy every single day, every single hour, every single minute and second!The devil hates us and wants to destroy us. We must be aware of our enemy’s weapons and tactics, because our spiritual life depends on it.The bibles says "do not be ignorant of His devices, 2 Corinthians 2:1. When you choose to do anything for Christ ,such as studying the the bible, You start off well and the next thing you know someone sends you a YouTube link, you start with one video and before you know it you have watched 4 videos and the time you had set aside for fellowship with God is gone.Then the devil will begin to tell you ,you have already messed up,just give up your fasting,God won't hear you etc.These are the voices you have to shut down immediately just like what Jesus did in the Wilderness,you use the Word of God and tell the devil " for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes. Proverbs 24:16. Say it loud, the Lord says "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" 2 Chronicles 7:14.
In addition, you speak positively into your life using the word of God and shutting down negative voices.For example, ''The Lord will never leave me nor forsake me.He loves me and He forgives me.'' The World calls them positive affirmations, we believers call them declarations and decrees as states by the Scripture. Job 22:28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.You have to shut down those voices because trust and believe The devil comes to kill ,steal and destroy John 10:10. This was a challenge but it was SO worth doing because I had to make my ears and heart receptive of what the Holy Spirit was saying to me.I DID NOT WANT TO LISTEN TO ANY OTHER VOICE EXCEPT THE VOICE OF GOD.If you are struggling to hear God, I hope some of the information here will be of some help.We all have our own journey and God walks with us all differently.This is not the template for hearing God, but it has helped me as well as others and hopefully it will help you too.Thank you for passing by and God bless.
