Hello and Happy New Month to you. I pray and hope that the first months of the year are going well for you. In this month , we will be dealing with generational curses.
What is a generational curse?
In the Bible, a generational curse is a pattern of behavior or circumstances that is passed down from one generation to the next. These curses can be the result of sin, disobedience, or rebellion against God. They can also be the result of seeking out spiritual powers or practices that are opposed to God's will. Some examples of biblical generational curses include idolatry, sexual immorality, and dishonoring one's parents, poverty etc.
A real life example I can use is of one of our Wop prayer warriors. She has given us permission to share her testimony to help others and we will call her Emma. She had a family pattern where women in her family for generations would lose their husbands to untimely death around the age of 40. As we know the Bible says in Psalm 90:10
The years of our life are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty; yet their span is but toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away.
Her great grandmother was widowed at the age of 40, her grandmother 39, her mother 40, her older sister 40. Emma got married at the age of 38 and was not going to let that curse follow her. She stormed the gates of prayer at midnight and prayed against premature death. She had been blessed with her Boaz and she was not going let that curse follow her and cut their life together short. No ma’am, she had also recently found out she was pregnant and expecting her first child. Her husband of course felt that it wasn't a big deal but she knew that God reveals to redeem. The fact that she had seen this pattern, it meant that God wanted to do a new thing in their family. Saints, the Bible didn’t say they weapons will not be formed, the weapons will be formed but they will not prosper. She was taking her prayers to the throne of mercy and grace covering her husband and family in prayer. Before her husband's birthday, he had a little fender bender with his car. This made him think twice about this curse of premature death.Without being asked he started joining her in prayer and He became a man of prayer.They became a family of prayer and they stood on the Word of God. They prayed and declared God’s promises over their lives. Months after her 40th birthday, they found out that her husband needed surgery, it was a big operation and everything went well, Glory be to God.Today Emma is 50 with 3 children and her hubby is alive and well.They are doing very well as a family and enjoying the gift of life.They are still a praying family and they use their testimony to encourage others.This is an amazing testimony of how and why we should always pray. The power of prayer is just amazing.Emma's younger sister laughed at this revelation and refused to pray. She said the words the hear today so often that if you don't think about it, it won't happen to you. Sadly for her , she got widowed at 39.
Here are some biblical examples.
A generational curse in the Bible can be found in the first book, Genesis , the story of Adam and Eve .After they disobeyed God's command not to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden. As a result of their sin, they and their descendants were cursed with the consequences of sin, including physical death and toil.
Genesis 3:17-19
17 And to Adam he said,
“Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, ‘You shall not eat of it,’cursed is the ground because of you; in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life;18 thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field.19 By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”This curse was passed down from generation to generation, affecting all of humanity.
Another example of a generational curse can be found in the story of King David in the Old Testament. After committing adultery with Bathsheba and plotting the death of her future husband, David was confronted by the prophet Nathan and was told that his sin would have consequences not just for him, but for his descendants as well .
2 Samuel 12:10-14
10 Now, therefore, the sword will never depart from your house, because you despised me and took the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your own.’
11 “This is what the Lord says: ‘Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity on you.Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will sleep with your wives in broad daylight. 12 You did it in secret, but I will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel.’”
13 Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinnedagainst the Lord.”
Nathan replied, “The Lord has taken away your sin. You are not going to die. 14 But because by doing this you have shown utter contempt for[a]the Lord, the son born to you will die.”.
The scriptures go on to confirm why that the child died. The child did not commit the sin, but reaped death because of the sins of the fore father. Many of us are going through things that we have no idea of, wondering why things we don't understand are happening. All because of what our forefathers , ancestors , family and generations before us did.
HERE IS MARCH'S BIBLE PLAN-BREAKING GENERATIONAL CURSES
This curse was later fulfilled when David's son Absalom led a rebellion against him and tried to take over the throne read (2 Samuel 15-18).
There are also examples in the Old Testament of generational curses being passed down as a result of idolatry or disobedience to God's commands. For example, the book of Exodus describes how the Israelites, despite being freed from slavery in Egypt, continued to worship false gods and rebel against God, leading to a cycle of punishment and suffering that was passed down from generation to generation read (Exodus 32:7-8). Similarly, the book of Deuteronomy warns that disobedience to God's commands would lead to curses being passed down to future generations (Deuteronomy 28:15-68).
Here are ten Bible verses that mention generational curses:
Exodus 20:5 - "You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me."
Deuteronomy 5:9 - "You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me."
Deuteronomy 23:2 - "No one of illegitimate birth shall enter the assembly of the Lord; none of his descendants, even to the tenth generation, shall enter the assembly of the Lord."
Isaiah 14:20-21 - "You will not be joined with them in burial, because you have destroyed your land and killed your people. The offspring of the wicked will never be mentioned again. Prepare a place to slaughter his children for the sins of their ancestors; they are not to rise to inherit the land and cover the earth with their cities."
Jeremiah 32:18 - "You show love to thousands, but bring the punishment for the fathers' sins into the laps of their children after them. O great and powerful God, whose name is the Lord Almighty, great are your purposes and mighty are your deeds. Your eyes are open to all the ways of men; you reward each man according to his conduct and as his deeds deserve."
Ezekiel 18:2-3 - "What do you mean by repeating this proverb concerning the land of Israel: ‘The fathers eat the sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge’? As I live, declares the Lord God, this proverb shall no longer be used by you in Israel."
Ezekiel 18:20 - "The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself."
2 Corinthians 7:10 - "For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death."
Galatians 3:13 - "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree.”"
Colossians 3:13 - "Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you."
How to break generational curses .
1.Give your life to Christ
2. Confess your sin and forsake them. No curse will be broken if you continue in sin
3. Ask for the mercy and forgiveness of God over every ancestral sin.
4. Stand on the Word of God in your prayers so that your prayers can be more effective.
5. Renounce all attachment and involvement with any curses.
6. Break all links and contacts with the enemy. For example break evil soul ties , and blood covenants properly and thoroughly.
7. Break all the curses associated with the evil dedications and rituals.
8. Resist the devil. Refuse to give room to the devil. Refuse to yield to his temptation.
9. Release yourself from all curses standing on your redemption through the blood of Jesus. Galatians 3:13-14, Colossians 2:14-15.
10. Replace all curses with blessings using Deutoronomy 28. Identify the root causes of the problems and deal with it prayerfully.
11. Flee away from fornication and other unholy activities.
12.Plead the blood of Jesus upon your life more often.
13. Do self deliverance until you see the curses are still active.

Prayer of Salvation and Deliverance
Jesus Christ I confess and I proclaim that You are my Savior and Lord over my life. I proclaim that the stripes You bore on the Cross at Calvary, have established You "my Redeemer." I repent for every relative connected to my family ancestry who has deliberately, or without spiritual wisdom sinned against Jehovah, or His people. I realize that all sin will be judged one day and that each one of us is accountable for what we have said, or done, but I am repenting for my family's sins and ask to be released from any curse these sins may have produced against me. I atone for every family members from my heritage who has entered onto sinful paths and who has opened doors never before opened, giving satan greater influence over their lives and the lives of their children. I plead the Blood of Jesus Christ, and I command the roots of these curses that have engrafted themselves against me and my family members to be uprooted and destroyed in the same way that Jesus had spoke words against the fig tree in Matthew 21:19,20, and that tree withered up and died. Let these curses die now in the mighty name of Jesus.Father, Your Word says Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law, having been made a curse for me. Therefore, I break and command every generational curse and their manifestations of sicknesses, diseases, dysfunctional lifestyles, failed marriages, character flaws, financial poverty, spiritual oppression, addictions, death,barreness and destruction (NAME THE ONES YOU KNOW OF) off myself, past generations and all future generations, in Jesus’ name. I place the cross of calvary between all past generations and myself. Every curse and assignment must stop at the cross, in Jesus’ mighty name. Thank You Lord that I am now free from any and all generational curses in Jesus Name! Amen.
Breaking the Curse
If you are living under a generational curse, it will be broken when you, through faith, apply the blood of Jesus for your deliverance.You can pray and make this your confession:
Confession
Thank You, God, that generational curses are broken through faith in the blood of Jesus. I put my faith in the blood of Jesus that was spelt at Calvary. I believe Jesus Christ is my mercy seat and that His blood cancels the curse and breaks generational iniquities. I believe, by the unchallenged blood of Jesus, that the generational curse from the law is cancelled and broken off my family now, in Jesus’ name. Thank You that sins, bondages and iniquities are cancelled and the curse is stopped by the blood of Jesus. Thank You, God, that the blood of Jesus on the mercy seat is a barrier and that a curse cannot pass the blood. Amen.
The POWER OF PRAYER can destroy any curse! Be consistent in your prayer life and be determined to destroy the works of the enemy concerning you and your family in Jesus Name! I encourage you to take this prayer challenge seriously and pray daily expecting deliverance and freedom!God has the power to set you free, do you have the faith?

Colossians 2:14-15: Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

1. I confess Lord Jesus that I have been in bondage in the following areas (name the specific areas), and I ask You to reveal to me the cause or causes that brought this into my life. (Here, confess to the Lord whatever He brings to your mind.) I thank You for the release that You gained for me when You became a curse on the cross.
2. I ask Lord that You forgive me or my ancestors for any sin that has exposed me to a curse (name any specific sin that you are aware of) I receive Your forgiveness and I choose to forgive those who’ve sinned against me (name these people).
3. I break any ungodly ties that still bind me to anyone in my life who’s ever hurt or disappointed me or to whom I have related in an ungodly way. (Name these people as you break the unhealthy bonding and ’soul ties’.)
4. I renounce any and all contact with the occultic and promise to destroy and occult objects that I may possess. (Name the specific occult involvement).
5. I renounce any and all sexual sins, and I break the power of pornography that may have a hold of me.
6. I renounce any and all self-inflicted curses that I’ve pronounced on myself, and I break those patterns from my heart and tongue by the blood of Jesus.
7. I renounce any and all curses that I’ve spoken against others, whether knowingly or unknowingly: gossip, bitter words, anger, and judgment. I break the authority of any such occult power in my life by the blood of Jesus Christ.
8. I renounce any and all unholy covenants in which I or my ancestors have been involved in (name them).
9. I renounce any and all patterns of stinginess with finances that I or my ancestors have engaged. I resolve to be obedient to the Lord in the area of giving to others, charities and the body of Christ in the name of Jesus.
10. I renounce all attitudes of reliance upon man and the flesh. I will put my trust solely in the Lord, my God.
11. I use the power in the name of Jesus and I release myself from the power and authorities of any curse.

3. O Jehovah, close every entrance into my life and my family's lives that the enemy wants to use in the name of Jesus Christ.
4. Holy Ghost fire, destroy every evil monitoring gadget put in place to spy me and my family, in the name of Jesus.
5. Blood of Jesus, paralyze the link between my family and the family evil strongman, in the name of Jesus.
6. Jehovah disgrace and shame, cover them that want to petition me and my family for evil, in the name of Jesus.
7. Every evil secret working against me and my family be exposed and scattered, in the name of Jesus.
8. Oh Lord, let the troublers of my life and family be troubled and be disgraced, in the name of Jesus.
9. Holy Ghost fire, destroy the evil personality hiring evil weapons to fight me and my family, in the name of Jesus.
10. Holy Ghost fire, locate and destroy evil powers and their weapons hired against my family, in the name of Jesus.
11. Oh Yahweh, fight against the oppressors of my destiny and my family's destinies, in the name of Jesus.
12. Oh Lord, let the hiding places of the enemies of my family be tormented and collapse, in the name of Jesus.

Prayer Points
1.I (say your full name) come against every evil hand and tongue, raised to trouble my peace and my family, paralyse and die, in the name of Jesus.
2. Dear Father in heaven, I ask that You clear all consequences of sins that might want to take effect on my head in Jesus’ name.
3. O Lord, I call on You to break every generational curse that might want to have power of me and the events of my life. No generational curse will turn my life upside down in Jesus' name.
4. Dear God, please protect me and my family from every evil family curse that might want to destroy our lives in Jesus' mighty name.
5. Father, I ask for Your grace and protection from all curses of any form that are known or unknown in the name of Jesus.
6. Oh God, please bless me abundantly so that no family curse of poverty that is trying to make me poor all my life will not succeed in its endeavours, in Jesus’ name.
7. My Father in heaven, I pray that You break every evil yoke that the curses have placed today. Break them by fire of God, destroy them and scatter them all in Jesus' name.
8. I ask for guidance O Lord, I know I can’t choose my family members, therefore I’m very susceptible to repercussions of other family members’ actions. Protect me from such evil repercussions o Lord! Protect me, guide me, in Jesus’ name.Amen.
Day 10
Prayer Points
1. Have mercy on me o God, I know that I commit sins and therefore I’m bound to reap some of the curses and repercussions in the Bible that come with breaking your commandments and look upon me with mercy and forgive me of my iniquities so that I don’t reap any of the repercussions associated with it.
2. O Lord, deliver me from the repercussions of the sins of my ancestors. Help me to not reap from the repercussions of their offences. Protect me and my family from negative consequences in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
3. O God my Father, I ask for divine deliverance from all ancestry, family, bloodline and generational curses that are blocking my development in one way or the other. Deliver me please me today from such curses. I declare and decree that as from today henceforth they will never have effect over me again by the blood of Jesus.
4. Lord please hear my heart’s cry, though family curses might have been haunting and following my ancestors in the past, when it gets to my family, let such curses cease to exist by the powerful name of Jesus Christ!
5. Host of heaven, I call on You in this hour. Deliver my children from all yokes placed on them by family curses. Please set them free today in Jesus' name.
6.Dear God, Your Word says that we should ask and it shall be given unto us, I ask that You give me freedom from ancestral yolks and curses today in the name of Jesus.
7.O Lord in Heaven, every curse causing financial problems in my life right now, deliver me from such curses now and forever Amen. Pleasese restore my financial glory once and for all today in Jesus' mighty name.
8. My Father I ask for Your grace to overcome all obstacles that might come my way due to ancestral curses and consequencesin in the name of Jesus.
9. Lord, I ask for the grace and mercy to be able to conquer all principalities and powers that may have laid curses on me and my family.Please wipe out the curses and render them ineffective in Jesus' name.
10. My Father, my God, Lord come to my rescue and help me to break these curses totally in Jesus’name. I declare that they shall have no hold over my children and generation again in Jesus’ name.
11. O Lord my Father, I call on You today, You delivered Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego from the burning furnace through Your divine intervention, O God, I call on You today just like those three men called on You please answer me speedily and deliver me from the wicked curses that the evil ones might have placed on me and my family in the name of Jesus Christ.
12. O God in Heaven please grant us prosperity and victory over all sicknesses/ diseases. Whatever ancestral curse that the enemy may have laid on my family preventing us from soaring high financially, break them in Jesus' mighty name.
Day 11
Prayer Points
1.My head reject every word of misfortune, failure and stagnation in the name of Jesus. I break the power of every negative pronouncement, enchantment, curse, divination, spell and incantation released upon me through evil family foundations in the name of Jesus.
2. Jehovah Nissi, turn every curse afflicting my family into generational blessings, in Jesus name.
3. I break and scatter every curse of marital delay affecting us in the family, in Jesus name.
4. I break and release myself, from every collective evil covenant, in the name of Jesus Christ.
5. Right now I command, the foundational strongmen attached to my family to die, in the name of Jesus.
6. I release myself by the blood of Jesus, from the curse of evil idols of my father’s house, in the name of Jesus.

2. I go back all generations and break every evil hold on my life. I come against that Babylon curse. I come against all the rebuke and blasphemy, every curse of damnation that has been spoken upon my bloodline for all generations in the name of Jesus.
3. I command everything that took away my self worth broken in the name of Jesus.
4. I come against the spirit of destruction, perishing and quickening and I command this curse of destruction to be broken off my generation in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
5. I command the curse of evil, backbiting, slander, contention, anger and hatred, to be broken now in Jesus' mighty name.
6. I come against every pestilence and I ask for total restoration of all that has been stolen from me in the name of Jesus.

Dear God,
I come before You with a heart full of gratitude and thanksgiving. Thank You for all the blessings You have bestowed upon me and my loved ones. Thank You for the gift of life and for sustaining me through all the challenges and trials I have faced. Thank You for the love of family and friends, for their support and encouragement, and for the moments of joy and laughter we share.Thank You for Your grace and forgiveness, for the sacrifice of Your son Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again to give us eternal life.
Help me to never forget Your goodness and mercy, and to always trust in Your love and faithfulness. May I live each day with a heart of gratitude, seeking to serve and love others as You have loved me.Thank You, God, for all that You have done, all that You are doing, and all that You will continue to do in my life. Thank You for setting me free from generational curses through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May Your name be praised forever.

Declaration
I will be blessed when I come in and blessed when I go out. The LORD will make sure those who rise up against me will be defeated.Those who will come to me from one direction will flee from me in seven ways. The LORD will grant me abundant prosperity, in the fruit of my womb, the young of my livestock and the crops of my ground, in the land He swore to my forefathers.The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of His bounty, to send rain on my land in this season and He will bless all the works of my hands.
